Tomorrow I'll be celebrating my 13th blogiversary, and after 13 years, there is really nothing about the way the American political media operates left for me to learn.
So here are three things I know to be true.
First, there is a Club. If you are in the Club, you will never miss a meal. No matter how hard you shit the bed. No matter what a goddamn fool you make of yourself over and over again. No matter how played out and ludicrous your 1980s hot-takes on every god damn issue may be, your friends in the business will always have you back.
Second, there is also a blacklist. Make no mistake about it. And once you're on it, you're on it. Period.
And third, this will remain the status quo until one fine day someone shows up who doesn't care about the Club, and who swings a bat just big enough to put a serious dent in them.
