Brilliant. Lived overseas during "Murphy Brown"era, but this clip shows just how long the GOP have been slaves to the worst ideas in America's long history.

Wally Shawn is the best. CB provided such comedic political insight in her show every week that it's almost painful to experience how far we as a country have fallen from the sophisticated level of humor about our political plight that we had attained decades ago. If only we could organize Bergin, Shawn and other survivors from that era to offer TV shows, plays and other types of communication venues in order to engage our citizenry intelligently about the issues which will determine our country's future path. It may be our best hope to get through this increasingly danger-filled political impasse.

I also lived overseas when Murphy Brown was on, and way back then, US shows weren't as widely broadcast, so I've only seen a few.

This is excellent, of course, but I have to disagree with one aspect of how every single R pol is Stuart Best.

In the clip, it appears that Stuart Best has some level of comprehension, remorse and horror for what he's being asked to do as a Congressman. I seriously doubt that ANY politician gives a rat's patoot about representing such heinous groups OR advocating for the very "solutions" that Stuart Best is being forced to advocate for.

Stuart Best appears appalled that he's supposed to push for such legislation. I don't see any R politician who's appalled in the slightest. In fact, they all seem gleeful and joyful to inflict as much pain and misery as possible on US citizens.

I also agree about the degradation of US tv shows since the apogee of such shows as Murphy Brown. It all goes hand in hand with the dumbing down of populace and the infiltration of rightwing propaganda in all aspects of the M$M. It's why I chucked out my tv a long time ago.

Sad humorous comedy with too much truth for its dime. T Film(art) reflecting the times.

Of course in present time, politicians are more soulless and would never have any guilt as depicted in that poor slob.

Case in point,
later in the day on the House schedule for a vote was to legalize silencers.
The NRA needs something to sell to raise weapons manufacturers and merchants profits.

Not quite the 2nd Amendment right.. To hunt , or defend you, your family or spill the blood of tyrants with a sound suppresses.

many GOPers at the ball practice shooting stated, "We heard, "pop-pop-pop-pop" and realized hearing gunfire, began taking cover.

Now, if shooter had a silencer, all they would notice is guys on the field falling down. Not even the security detail would have been alerted as soon by the (adverse noise) the NRA believe is a 2nd Amendment right to bear arms with silencers.

Tragically the House had to postpone their "silencer freedom act" legislative vote. Because they were very concerned about their own safety and needed to immediately address it. Unlike the shooting were people actually shot dead in Calif. They don't seem to discuss that.
And I am sure, the Orlando shooting would have been even higher in death toll if that shooter only had his 2nd Amendment right to a silencer.

Can I add an Amendment from the Chem weapons industry?
legalize the use of Weapoons grade Anthrax for hunting.

Silencers not included.
