Thank you. I actually like the podcast better sans Science Fiction University.

Don't worry about your stridency, Blue Gal. It's a welcome alternative to the "both siderist" baloney coming out of the cable news networks. I have almost as little patience for ostensible allies like Hal Sparks and Stephanie Miller as I do for hack pundits like Nicholas Kristof (and your rant against him was a refreshing change of pace from your usual complaints about David Brooks). If you voted for Donald Trump, you're either a racist or you have no problems with racists running this country, and your mom calling to see if you're o.k. the day after you voted for this doesn't change that. You are right, Driftglass: All this talk of our having a "responsibility" to reach out to these failed citizens is a plea not to hold them accountable for their vote.

I also want to thank both of you for not apologizing for using the word "crazy" to describe the mentally ill or whatever inappropriate group Republicans apparently want to arm except in places where they happen to be. I actually feel annoyed when I hear someone apologize for using the expression "going off the reservation" or liberals presuming to tell me I can't use the term "retarded" as an expression of disapproval.

While I like Blue Gal's fantasy of moving large "scary" black men to New Hampshire and arming them to the teeth, I would like to suggest a better use for the lottery money, my own favorite: colonize Montana and Wyoming to take back and hold the Senate. I crunched the numbers using the 2000 census figures, and I need to do it again, but a few thousand liberal voters could take 2 Senate seats and a House seat in these ridiculously over represented states. If i find a bit of energy and ambition, I will figure this out again so that I can suggest a number that would ensure winning those seats.

And I weep when I consider the truth of Blue Gal's observation that there is a hard window of opportunity for the autistic child to acquire necessary language skills. These evil people have voted to condemn those children to limited lives.

And Matthew 6 is also the chapter that has this wonderful observation by Jesus: : "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." To which I would like to add this observation from Ambrose Bierce's Devil's Dictionary:MAMMON, n. The god of the world's leading religion. The chief temple is in the holy city of New York.

I'd probably be more likely to forgive the few people I know who voted for Trump if the ones I know weren't so straight up batshit Alex Jones fanboy (and all of them are male) crazy.
I know they kinda need help and support, and I do try to be there for my friends even when we don't agree, but god damn it, if you come to my house and start ranting about climate change being a hoax one more time, there won't be a time after that.

Something that occurred while listening... Look at the series of scandals, crimes, and outrages Shitler has just coasted right over, without concern. It's a big one, and doesn't bother any conservative voter in the least.

Just how fucking bad are those tax returns that he must hide forever?

He's about to start the cattle car deliveries of humans to concentration camps. He can't stop praising Russia and its dictator, and giving him access to our secrets and our money. (That's a guess, but who the fuck would be surprised if it was true?)

All that, and he's afraid of releasing tax returns. Is there evidence of funding an international baby-raping cannibal club in there? Is that bad enough?

I can't tell if that would bother my conservative acquaintances. Could they actually witness it in person and claim that it was fake news? Yes. Yes, they could.
