Now That the Left Has Been Proven Unequivocally Right About the Right

"That does happen to men. I've faced it myself, with Greta Van Susteren BEFORE her head transplant." -- Jack Donaghy, 30 Rock
I'm sure America's broadcast television news industry will be making more room at the table for the Libera... (from The Buffalo News):
Megyn Kelly is leaving Fox News for NBC

For Megyn Kelly, the shift from Fox News to NBC – where she will host a daily daytime show and a Sunday newsmagazine program – will be a test of whether she can connect with a broader audience in a different format and reach another level of television stardom...
Well whatever,  I'm sure at least the last cable news that still keeps a Liberal or two on the payroll will find a place for just one more... (from Forbes)
Former Fox News Star Greta Van Susteren Moves To MSNBC

In what might be the biggest shift--in terms of ideology, at least--in recent TV history, Greta Van Susteren, who rose to prominence on the conservative Fox News, will be moving to MSNBC. This marks NBC Universal's second Fox News hire of the week, following the announcement that Megyn Kelly will also move to NBC later this year (although she likely won't appear on MSNBC)...

You know, maybe not so much with the teevee, but surely the time-honored and lucrative profession of featured magazine writer still has a place for someone whose previous job didn't involve working the day shift at America's most notorious shit-and-sexual-predator factory for the last eleven... (from HuffPo):
Gretchen Carlson To Write About Empowerment In New Starring Role For Time Magazine

Gretchen Carlson, who accused former Fox News chief Roger Ailes of sexual harassment while she was an anchor for the network, announced Tuesday that she’s moved on to a new role.

While guest-hosting the “Today” show, Carlson revealed that she’ll be a columnist for the Motto section of Time magazine’s website, writing about women and empowerment. The online newsletter targets a largely female audience with news about current events, such as abortion rights, lifestyle tips and professional advice.

She also announced she will start a foundation supporting women and girls.

Her first column will appear on Jan. 16 and she’ll contribute at least one article per month, Time said in a statement...
Sigh.

Well at least the stodgy but venerable world of book publishing remains unsullied.

Clearly, MSNBC is making a strong play to create a "younger" version of the Fox rightwing propaganda platform leaving Fox with the screeching old men. Not sure what happens to Maddow and Hayes at this point. Kelly is a big time racist who benefitted from Trump's disgusting behavior. But I'll bet she voted for him.

So Megyn, are Santa and Jesus still white now that you've taken up with the network you spent all those years slandering?

"...a test of whether she can connect with a broader audience in a different format and reach another level of television stardom..."

Oh that's right, you don't give a rat's ass and never did. Your real beef with Trump was that he was a bigger self-aggrandizer than you and was stepping on your popularity toes.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat. Hard for things to change after these old fuckers die off when young fuckers are ready to assume the mantle.

Foxinoma is a pernicious cancer. Appears that the media has it and it metastasized. Stage three, I don't know how long it has but don't buy any long term bonds, if you get my drift.

There is only one solution. Boycott.

Rachel embroidered a gigantic welcome mat for Greta last night. She prattled on endlessly about how the only time she used clips from another show it was from Greta's, Greta's a great interviewer who can get ANYONE to talk, and they're just besties!

It was nauseating and very sad....

Reason Numero 2053.5 why I chucked out my tv over a decade ago. I have no idea when the last time was that I read something as derpy as Time or Newsweek.

It appears that the dawning of the Age of Trump has emboldened our Overlords to spread their noxious rightwing propaganda ever further. However, I certainly do not expect any of these highly paid courtiers to point that out, and I'm so sure we'll continue to hear the rending of tunics & gnashing of teeth over the incredibly LIEbrul media. Count on it.

I was never in the camp of praising or liking or whatever of the execrable Megyn Kelly. Kelly's a bigoted nasty piece of work. I do believe she's quite bright, and it wouldn't suprise me if she deliberately sought to provoke Trump - not hard to do - in order to make just this exact career leap. Everyone who wrung their hands and cried their eyes out over how meeeeaaaannn Trump was to bleeding out of her hoo-hah Kelly are chumps... royally played.

Screw the lot of 'em. Rachael Maddow & Chris Hayes sold out a long long time ago.

And here is where the post-election "solution" of Democrats-Need-To-Learn-To-Message-Better! goes to die.

The idea has merit in very specific contexts, but as a whole who, exactly, is going broadcast on a national level even the most deftly crafted Democratic message without burying it in BothSides! or sandwiching it between two paid right wing operatives charged with burying it in a mountain of steaming fact-free talking points bullshit?

For example, the local morning news affiliate between traffic, weather, and sports, provides political news completely from the National Affiliate and who get's the 30 second slot each morning to tell the 90 million who didn't vote, but want to know who one the big game last night, what is happening in DC right now? Newt FUCKING Gingrich.

I think the whole thing with "the liberal media" is a policing mechanism to keep the journalistic courtiers in line.

As to Time and Newsweek, since they're apparently still able to buy paper and ink, I assume there must be somebody who reads them but damned if I know who it is.

More normalization of the extreme. Just adding some 'fairness and balance', to the 'liberal' mainstream media, I'm sure. As keith gargus says above, a cancer metastasizing. The Overton window pulls farther to the right. This is really, really a bad signal, if these three are mainstream now, signaling that Fox is a legitimate part of the mainstream. And the pretty blondes of Fox are effective because they're pretty blondes, so people think they're sincere and not smart enough to be fooling you, when really they're guileful assassins. Meghan Kelly could end up Ice Queen of the Pig People one day. Her potential is frightening. But more immediately; Fox is mainstream now? The Press is fucking us so hard.

I can't stop laughing at this mindless drivel. Those must be some good Meds you swallow everyday.

No this is mainstream. LOLOL
