Because at long last they have no place else to go.
And if we choose to accept it, one of the great blessings of having Trump as the GOP nominee and the wingnut freakout denialism over Trump's wife take a plagiarized dump in the national punch-bowl in front of 35 million witnesses on Day One of his coronation --
-- is that maybe we can finally get it through our heads that there is no point whatsoever in continuing to pretend that we can reason with these people.
We can beat them. We can drive them back into America's political sewer. But let's finally accept the fact that it is absolutely impossible to reach them or to govern this great country responsibly with them anywhere near the levers of power.

An attempt at reason they will not hear: if Michelle and Barack were "plagiarizing" Alinsky(dbuh), wouldn't they have used Alinsky(dbuh)'s emphasis on the phrases? Michelle quotes Barack saying we should aspire to the world as it should be, not focus exclusively on the world that is. Yet in Alinsky(dbuh)'s Rules for Radicals, he expressely rejects a pie-in-the-sky emphasis on "the world as it should be" for a level-headed look at "the world as it is."
