The Chuck Todd Show

You know, Doris, if there was one thing, I thought Donald Trump's speech felt darker than I feel like America is, and sometimes there were times that Hillary Clinton's speech felt more optimistic than where we are in America. I mean, it did feel as if they both exaggerated points.

The Democratic Party held a brilliantly coordinated, four-day political convention.
The Republican Party held a four-day, wingnut Ghost Dance intended to resurrect the Confederacy.

Of course, something must be done about this unique & shocking scourge of exaggerating politicians before it sullies the cadmium escutcheon of America's civic & global heritage - a collective legacy of modesty, thrift & generosity which is from stem to stern an unbroken majestic saga of glowing crystalline purity.

Wait! Wait! Professor Todd!
Call on me! I've got my hand up here in the back!
"Both Sides", right?

In reply, Doris said: "You know, I mean, I think somewhere in the middle of those two points is where the country is."

Then she said, "... it's going to be the Democratic challenge to somehow really talk to them not just in policy, but in emotional terms.

And then, "... Trump is connecting emotionally, the Democrats are connecting politically."

Evidently, she didn't actually listen to the DNC speakers.

It's almost like Snot Toddy is being PAID to say that both sides are the same

You know, Satan had some good points here today, and Jesus exaggerated some points beyond what our fact-checkers thought were accurate. On the whole, I think it's fair to say that both sides had some problems. We'll leave you with the last word on this, Lucifer!

Seriously, we should run with the God and Satan are both sides of the same coin meme. Only way "false equivalence" will penetrate some brains out there.

Or to make it even more accessible,

Batman and the Joker? They both represent a corrupt duopoly.

Lincoln and Jefferson Davis? Opinions differ!

Both Sides of the Force Do It.

Walkers vs Humans? Who can know who's right?

Scrooge McDuck and Flintheart Glomgold both represent the corrupt duopoly.

Gargamel and the Smurfs should reach a bipartisan consensus.

The Federation and the Borg are equally at fault.

...and on, and on, and on, ad infinitum

IMHO, I thought the DNC co-opted a few too many "morning in America" style GOP-talking points. That's just me. But funny how most of the GOP establishment still venerates Reagan and his cheery disposition, reality notwithstanding.

But heaven forfend that the "Democrat" party should sound a similar optimistic theme at their convention. Gotta be wrong somehow.

And then, of course, ye olde push push push the dastardly Ds to the right!!!11!! Move that Overton Window. As if pushing the GOP ever rightward hasn't resulted in the disaster that is Trump.
