@MSNBC Assisted Suicide Watch Continues

In case you had any lingering doubts about how much MSNBC management hates you...
MSNBC to Add Bloomberg TV Political Show

By RAVI SOMAIYADEC. 6, 2015

“With All Due Respect,” Bloomberg Media’s flagship political television show, will also be shown on MSNBC, weeknights at 6 p.m., after a deal between the two.

The show, featuring the political journalists John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, will continue to be shown on Bloomberg at 5 p.m. The deal, which takes effect in January, follows recent efforts at MSNBC and Bloomberg Media to revamp their offerings.

The deal resulted from an inquiry to Bloomberg from MSNBC, said Justin B. Smith, the chief executive of Bloomberg Media. He declined to specify its terms.

Andrew Lack, chairman of NBC News and MSNBC, said in a statement: “I’ve known and respected Mark and John’s work for many years. Collaborating with them on our air will strengthen our already deep and experienced political lineup as MSNBC heads into a pivotal election year.”

In response to questions about recent criticism of the show, Mr. Smith said the company was “proud of the show.” He added, “I think there has been a lot of scuttlebutt about people not liking the show, but our owner has gone definitively public, and has put a lot of this gossip to rest,” referring to a statement of support from Michael R. Bloomberg, founder of Bloomberg L.P. and former mayor of New York.

Mr. Smith also noted that the show had been expanded to an hour from 30 minutes...
The machinations of media moguls and billionaire mayors is so far above my pay-grade that I can barely see the contrail of their imperial star destroyers as they skim the atmosphere of the planet where I live.

All I can say is the same thing I have said over and over again, more or less, since MSNBC went into the "nailing-its-own-coffin-shut-from-the-inside" business.  And that is, if theories of spontaneous generation and Lysenkoism are even a little bit true, by God, somewhere in the mountain of horseshit they are erecting there will one day arise the finest damn pony you have ever seen.

OK, I like dystopian Sci-Fi as much as the next geek, but these days everything is getting just a little too much like, say, The Marching Morons (aka Idiocracy).
If President Camacho (excuse me, Trump) is actually elected, we can only pray that his National Science Advisor Peggy Noonan will save us.

I think this MSNBC decision for this show is intended for me to spend more time with my family, viewing a more diverse ideological source of news. Like, discovering the vast differences in opinion and reports of Hannity vs O'reilly..
MOre likely I will gravitate to reruns of Steven Colbert before FOXy impersonation of MSNBC.
You think MSNBC wants the FOX viewer to get the "buy gold" advertising dollars?

All I can say is, this is going to put more pressure on the Professional Left to watch "Bullshit Mountain" and report back to us. So the rest of us merely have to smell bullshit mountains reek and not have to place that vile into our mental rolodex.
You new the job was dangerous when you took it.........

Is this the SAME Halperin sc*mbag that once referred to President Obama as a "dick"? After that fiasco, he should have been nailed to the nearest tree and abandoned.

I've liked Heilemann for a long time. I've never much liked Halperin but I always figured that if Heilemann was okay collaborating with him that there must be something there that I am missing. I'm still not sure what that is.

And "With All Due Respect" is pretty awful. I think what they were shooting for was a political version of "Pardon the Interruption" but it's not working.

Ah huh, asking a question you already know the answer to.

What if Mark had got invited to hunt birds with clipped wings, fenced off so they couldn't get away with the other Cheney instead of Cheney's atty pal.
Would it have been Mark who got the facial from Cheney?
And just to set the record straight of Mark calling the President a Dick.
It may be construed of both siderism because I called Cheney "Dick" often.

There is a special place in infamy for people who lend out their imprimatur for hacks (e.g. Joe Scarborough) to claim as reputable sources. I place Halperin and Heilemann on the same tier as John McCain leaving that hastily called session at Bush's White House, reassuring Americans that we do not and did not torture. High Broderism at its most rampant was never as smarmy. (Kudos? I guess.)

We need a verb: Halpering?
