Because If They Screeeeeech Bullshit Loud Enough

UNITY

Eventually we'll all back down and everyone (but that same, exhausted platoon of dirty hippies) will return to our slow-motion lobotomy national default setting of Blaming Both Sides for Everything (from Raw Story):
...Watters suggested that Democrats had released the report to coincide with the testimony of economist Jonathan Gruber, who outrage conservatives when he said that health care reform was passed using the “stupidity” of the American people.

“They Senate Democrats, they’re just trying to get one last shot in at Bush before they go into the minority!” the correspondent opined. “And they didn’t even interview any of the CIA interrogators to do the report.”

“It’s kind of like how Rolling Stone does their reporting, they only get one side,” he added, referring to a controversial report about an alleged gang rape at the University of Virginia. “You know, the Democrats didn’t care about transparency when they were destroying hard drives at the IRS.”

Out Numbered host Andrea Tantaros agreed that she didn’t need transparency at the CIA either.

“The United States of America is awesome, we are awesome,” she said. “But we’ve had this discussion. We’ve closed the book on it, and we’ve stopped doing it. And the reason they want to have this discussion is not to show how awesome we are. This administration wants to have this discussion to show us how we’re not awesome.”

“They apologized for this country, they don’t like this country, they want us to look bad. And all this does is have our enemies laughing at us, that we are having this debate again,” Tantaros added. “Because they believe if we can just shame ourselves and convince the world how horrible we are, and put us on a moral equivalency with all these other countries then maybe they will stop beheading Americans and putting our heads on sticks. They’re fools.”
...
If the head of someone in the skybox tier of the Bush Regime power pyramid does not end up on a fucking pike for this, then Andrea Tantaros wins, and the only lesson to be learned from our years of state-sanctions, flag-draped depravity is that Senator Rourk was right:

They don't like this country, yet, BENGHAZI. They don't like this country, yet, SOLANDRA. They don't like this country, yet, BIRTH CERTIFICATE. They don't like this country, yet, THE FIRST LADY IS AN UPPITY BITCH. They don't like this country, yet, OSAMA WHO??

Are you insinuating that America isn't awesome? If you undermine America's awesomeness clearly you are the problem. You should focus your attention on positive things like how bad North Korea behaves.

At which point the likes of yours truly will ask, "What else could anybody have possibly expected?"

Well, if there can only be one, I would pick Cheney, but we know that will never happen. After him, I would love to see David Addington--the Reinhard Heydrich of the Bush Administration--in the block, but that won't happen either.

You know, the thing that I never hear anyone mention is "What happens if all of these people, from W. Bush, to Cheney, to Rumsfeld on down are sitting on nice fat blanket Presidential Pardons, and President Obama knows it, but didn't write them?" Because really, for all the incompetence that the Bush Admin displayed and had, when it came to this kind of thing, I just can't see them not playing a game of C.Y.A. with Presidential Pardons. And those things are absolute, unless the individual has been impeached before the pardon is issued. It is also impossible to impeach someone who's not actively in office.

That's my personal pet theory on why things have mostly gone down the way they have on this front. President Obama has show a very real habit of despising political kabuki theater, so it would be no surprise to me at all to find that President Obama just... didn't care to go through another futile exercise that he feels won't get any results that matter.

Sure it might make certain segments of the "Fake Leftist" and purity trolls feel better (for all of two seconds and then it's time to off the President's head because the President decided not to strong arm and coerce congress into giving into their every whim), but as they have shown time and time again, they don't matter, because they don't make themselves matter.

Senator Roark IS right, and in your heart you know it.

And that';s why we will fade from the world stage just like England did in the last century. Hopefully we can do it without plunging the whole world into a genocidal war. We'll see.
