A Giant Once Lived In That Body

But Ralph looked for headlines too high up and too far away.

From Yahoo News, Mr. "Not a Dime's Worth of Difference" gives your Crazy Uncle Liberty more email fodder, which will arrived with the subject line "See! We Told You!! Even Librul Leftist Radical Ralph Nader Thinks Obummer Should Be Impeached!!!!"
Ralph Nader's America: Impeach Obama, decriminalize drugs, libertarians & progressives unite!
...
When it comes to the current president, Nader said that Obama has violated the Constitution on several occasions and should be impeached.

"Oh, most definitely," Nader said when asked if Congress should bring forward articles of impeachment against Obama. "The reason why Congress doesn't want to do it is because it's abdicated its own responsibility under the Constitution."
Also this:
But Nader qualified that the success of his envisioned left-right alliance is dependent on strong leaders. He said Sen. Rand Paul, son of Ron Paul, has the potential to be a leader for the alliance, but added that he thinks the Kentucky Republican has certain shortcomings as a leader.

“He’s a mixed bag, you know, he's evolving. He's broadening his issues that he's talking about and they’re beginning to resonate,” Nader said. “On the other hand … he has problems dealing with people.”
Also this:
Nader has his own vision for who he’d like to be president and has even put forward a proposal of 20 billionaires who he encourages to run for president – a list that includes media mogul Oprah Winfrey and environmentalist Tom Steyer.

“That's where we're at now: 20 billionaires with some enlightened background and I said run. Run! Run as an independent,” Nader said. “Just to shake up this two-party tyranny … So maybe one of them will run. We certainly have enough of them, don't we?”
His truth is marching on.

Nader is a washed-up asshole who constantly shits on his earlier achievements with his faux libertarian bullshit. He's going to go down in history as someone who used to be relevant but turned into a national joke.

Yeah, I saw that article yesterday. Nader's dream left/right alliance sounded like a libertarian/Third Way wet dream. Poor Ralph--he just can't let go of his dreams of influence, and daggone it, no one will listen to him!

This makes me want to set myself and/or my apartment on fire.

Rand Paul? The guy who thinks the Civil Rights Act is unconstitutional? Who opposes marriage equality? Who thinks that a state should have the power to decide what a woman can and can't do with her uterus? That's one of the guys you think can lead our country to a time of greater liberty and individual freedom?

The stupid. It burns.

It is sad that the guy who cleaned up the air in the Bat Area has fallen to this, but make no mistake, he has.

Who is this "Ralph Nader" fellow, my comrades of Oceania? I thought we were going to spend this Two Minutes' Hate hating that doubleplusungood Emmanuel Goldstein, as usual.

Funny how these left/right coalition clowns never advocate for pulling together behind Bernie Sanders for the Good of the Nation. We Social Democrats are solid decent people with a ton of good ideas, but we never get a hearing between the lies of the teabaggers and the demented squeals of the leftie faux radical purity trolls. Part of the problem is that the former is the annoying small change of adversarial politics, aka we understand it and we can plan for it, while the latter is a massively counter productive campaign that actively sabotages any effort to actually attain any actual leftist goals - in service of a persistent fantasy that this sabotage will rebound to the creation of some lefty utopia in some place and at some time in some unspecified future.

Actually, I could be persuaded to vote for Bernie Sanders.
