Don't panic peons -- your Elite Media is on the job!

Sure, some fringe Cruzites are itching to use their positions as the people's elected representatives to destroy the people's federal government (just like the hippies would love to do no doubt!) but I just have this crazy hunch we are about to learn that a plucky coalition of Wall Street bankers, lobbyists, incrementally-less-batshit-than-Ted-Cruz Republicans, oil company barons, defense contractors and media moguls may yet be able to prevent the monster they designed and built from wrecking the parts of the Evil Gummit that personally benefit them.

To that end, on behalf of you the customer, "Meet the Press" has spared no expense rounding up the most soul-killingly usual of the Usual Suspects and has arrayed them around a very expense table to scold all the usual Bad People who are making life in the nation's capitol unpleasant for them.  So tomorrow if your plans include taking a shot every time someone invokes "Both Sides", give your car keys to a friend and expect to be face down in a puddle of your own sick by noon.
Roundtable: Is Washington Broken?
Congressional gridlock has reached all-time highs while approval ratings dip to records lows. With the budget crises now in the rearview mirror, what are the sticking points on the big agenda items moving forward? Plus, it’s been another tough week for the roll out of Obamacare. How big of a problem are the glitches? Our roundtable breaks it all down: NY Times Columnist David Brooks; Washington Post Columnist E.J. Dionne; host of CNBC’s “Closing Bell,” Maria Bartiromo; and NBC News Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent Andrea Mitchell.

Wow, Dancin' Dave sure picked folks from both sides of the political spectrum. I'm sure one of these A-holes will make a comment then the other three will say, in turn, "I couldn't agree with you more," then the second pundit will say something, then the other three will say, in turn, "I couldn't agree with you more," *** wash, rinse, repeat.

This isn't the right wing echo chamber, it's the "Centrist" echo chamber.

On a side note, I was dumb enough to sample Mr. Brooks on the PBS "Newshour" last night. At one point I thought he was going to cry on Mark Shields' shoulder and ask for a hug.

There's not enough sugar or caffeine in the world that could induce me to watch those Malevolent Aliens spew snot green slime on we the great unwashed and uninitiated. (Unfortunately I don't drink or take drugs, but watching that bilge could drive me to it).

BTW, TCM is showing Dr Strangelove. Is that conincidence or an exercise in statement making?

Good god, that line up is almost enough to make me go to church with the wife and kid!

Andrea Mitchell will be especially loathsome given that her disgusting husband is peddling a book about how no could have foreseen the market implosion under his watch.

So long as the tea party and hippies can safely exist on the left/right spectrum of the serf class, then the tea party can be seen a movement with its "heart in the right place" and not the living spirit of the GOP.

How is it these people don't gouge their own eyes out with a melon baller from the mind numbing, soul crushing, repetitiveness of talking to the same people every week; asking the same questions and hearing variations of the same answers?

Jesus Hussein Christ, can Press the Meat get any worse? It was bad enough with Luke's dad. But this is ridiculous. I'd prefer to watch Chris Hayes take a nap for an hour than to watch these people again. And again. And again.

I spare myself this experience, but you nailed it.

It's the same dynamic as courtiers in a decaying empire reassuring each other with dollops of banality tarted up as wisdom and insight on the "current situation".

I've been told this shit exists because rich people want it, but I can't imagine an actual rich person actually taking the time out to actually sit down and watch.

This show is on because rich people merely want to know that it's on, so that if this goes on long enough we could have a show with literally zero viewers (except maybe Media Matters) that doesn't ever go off the air and doesn't ever change in the smallest way.

Any bad show you can think of is designed to get someone to want to watch it. This show is worse than all of those.
