In Which I Anxiously Await

Lauren Green's interview with Steven Spielberg:
Mr. Spielberg, as a prominent member of the tribe that murdered Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, just where do you get off making a movie about the Holy Grail?
Story is here for the six people who haven't heard about it yet,

Not gonna watch a video about Spielberg when I can't stomach a video by the goof. One day, if I have a free hour or two, I'll teach Steven how to use a camera. He has shown some promise, but he's young and dumb. I'm hopeful that circumstance can be corrected.

"I've been obsessed with Jesus..." Damn. Started out liking the guy. Now I don't.

Good morning, Mr. Glass.

"Mr. Aslan, as a member of the Necromonger religion***, shouldn't you be off fighting Vin Diesel right now instead of writing this book?"

***Chronicles of Riddick. Necromongers are how Islamophobes see Islam...be assimilated or be exterminated.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

What were the odds that one of those six people would leave a comment here?

Kevin Holsinger,

Actually, my take on the Necromongers was how the religious right sees the LGBT community. The Necromongers are, essentially, undead. About the time the movie came out, the religious right was calling "teh gay" a "lifestyle", the community retorted with "it's not a lifestyle, it's a life". The more rabid fundies responded by calling it a "deathstyle".

So, in "Chronicles of Riddick", you have a race of vain, shallow, venal, effete narcissists who cannot reproduce and thus fly around the universe recruiting other people to their "deathstyle", being self indulgent and trying to convince everyone else how happy they will be once they give up the ability to reproduce.

They were space fags, as envisioned by those developmentally stunted by fundamentalism.

I think Mike K. just insulted me.

Zombie,

I did?

Really, if I was going to insult you, it would be for using the poster of one of the most horrible of horrible movies ever made. Seriously, it took three tries to make it to the end of "Zardoz", and if my parents were not sitting next to me I would have bellowed "THREE FUCKING GODDAMNED HOURS FOR THAT!!!???!!!". I've thought that I might appreciate it more being a couple decades older, but I can't bring myself to watch it again.

Otherwise, as someone who has had ghosts in his place, I have nothing against the undead. I've met some very nice ones. :-)

Good morning, Mike K.

Wait, someone besides me both watched AND analyzed "The Chronicles of Riddick"?

Mind. Blown.

Anyway, enjoy the rest of your day.

Mike--

The Zardoz thing is kind of an inside joke with a gang of bloggers I used to hang out with.

My avatar in most places is a hand-casting I made in second grade. To be honest, I kind of forget that THE BEST BOND MOVIE EVER shows up on Blooger.
