"My arms are long enough that when I try to eat while flying, my hands overshoot the tray table by a considerable amount and I end up having to bend them back to reach anything.  Never have I felt more like a T-Rex."

For the Spanish for "the GOP death spiral" I would say "El descenso de la muerte del GOP or better yet "El caido fatal del GOP." But you know, you ca translate it so many ways.

" I don't know that "spiral," "espiral" in Spanish conveys a downward motion enough.

I was expecting the Fan Fiction to be a driftglass/Glenn slashfic story.

You should post that great fanfic, it was a great read...what does it say about me that I knew almost all of the answers to the Star Trek and Star Wars questions you got in this episode? Don't worry though, I've never been to a convention and I've never dressed up like a Klingon or a Jedi.

First of all, I admit that Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Al Frankenstein, Mark Udall etc...exist. Further, I'd rather have Democrats running things than Republicans.

While Democrats talk much differently than Republicans much of both party's policy prescriptions are aimed at achieving the same result, namely, they strive to protect and buttress already entrenched interests.

I'm reminded of the difference between Fox News and the PBS News Hour. Each has a distinctively different tone. Each aims at a distinctively different audience. Yet each actively work towards the same end. Both defend the powers that be.

What am I saying?

Sometimes 'both sides' do it!

NAFTA, Welfare Reform, Elimination of Glass-Stegall, Non-prosecution of Wall Street Criminals, Unlawful Search and Seizure, Unlawful Detainment...

Maybe an observant person does not have to go all the way to the Space Station to see unfortunate similarities between the policies of our two major parties.

Yeah, that reading had me in stitches.

Can't believe you missed the director of Dune, man! David Lynch! It's well known, but Kyle McLaughlin should have been an obvious clue.

watchdog, I knew most of those too. Missed a lot of the rest of them, though. Screwed up the Tiberius question also.

HAL is both Skynet's father & Skynet's cousin ... AWKWARD.

I bid 45,000 Quatloos for the fine fanfic!

That reminds me, technically Kirk's mom only suggested naming the kid after his grandfather, Tiberius. But his dad thought it was terrible and suggested naming him after the mom's father, James.
I know far too much about Star Trek.
Comes from being involved in the old Star Trek vs Star Wars debate.

Remember when "The Undiscovered Country" was the most ludicrous waste of a franchise's good will? It was like Lucas saw it as a challenge, and came up with The Phantom Menace.

That scene was actually dramatized in the first JJ Abrams reboot at the beginning.

The undiscovered country is one of the better movies. I think you're thinking of ST 5, then there was the TNG movie Generations as well as the other films that followed(not counting first contact).
