"I had to flog myself in order to read it." I'll bet he did. It is fun to see the old devil doing his stuff on somebody that deserves it, isn't it? But how he smells of unearned money!

"Which is the biggest selling novel in the history of the world, by the way." - W. F. Buckley

Yet another masturbatory conservative "true fact" that refuses to die. Atlas Shrugged has sold about 7 million copies in fifty plus years. A Tale of Two Cities is about 200M, Lord of the Rings about 150M. Hell, the Harry Potter series averaged 75M for EACH of six books.

Atlas Shrugged doesn't even make the 10M copy threshold to be listed in the top selling books (about 300 or so). Behind Catcher in the Rye, Lolita and many books from the same era.

So, yeah, other than maybe - what - 400 or 500, 600 other novels it really is the best selling novel in history.

A man chooses. A slave obeys. And also listens to William F Buckley. Does this count as wingnut-on-wingnut crime?
