The GOP's Genius 3-Step Plan For World Domination

Step One:  Create an entire, 40-year, multi-billion-dollar, national media and electoral strategy built on cultivating Archie Bunker.

Step Two:  Pretend they never heard of Archie Bunker.

Step Three:  Blame Liberals for Archie Bunker.
Krauthammer Blames Obama For GOP Civil War
POSTED BY ARIA -5PC ON DECEMBER 31, 2012

Ah, President Obama- Is there anything that the Foxiverse can’t blame on him? Apparently not, because it seems that even GOP infighting over the fiscal cliff is now his fault. That's what contributor Charles Krauthammer told us on the December 27th Hannity. Ever willing to find new ways to smear the president, Sean Hannity was more than willing to let him.

The segment began with Hannity placing all the fiscal-cliff blame on Obama, and attacking him for going on his holiday vacation in the first place, conveniently ignoring that Boehner also went on vacation, and even his Tea Party-loving public is upset that, unlike Obama, he won’t come back from his.

After a little indulging of his selective memory, Hannity called on Krauthammer, who said:
Well, I don’t begrudge him his holiday; I do begrudge what he’s done in these fiscal cliff talks. It’s been very clear from the beginning that he had no intention to solve the fiscal issues. He’s been using this, and I must say, with great skill and ruthless skill and success, to fracture, and basically shatter the Republican opposition. The only redoubt of the opposition is the house. His objective from the very beginning was to break the will of the Republicans in the House, and to create an internal civil war. And he’s done that.

How did he do it? By always insisting, from day one after the election, that Republicans had to raise rates? There’s no reason at all to get the revenue he needed, and that the Speaker was offering him, said that you have to raise rates. Obama himself, as you know said last July, July 2011, that you could get $1.2 trillion by eliminating loopholes, which is exactly what the Republicans offered him. So why did he insist on the rates? He said that is what he’ll insist upon, and that was the ultimatum. He did that because he knew it would create a crisis among the Republicans - and it did.
...
At this point the only thing that keeps the GOP from being laughed into oblivion are the checkbooks of a clutch of crackpot billionaires and the complicity of the Beltway media.

Hm.

If Krauthammer had said "His objective from the very beginning was to get the House to start functioning as a legislature," maybe it wouldn't look so insane. In my view Obama did plan to break the will of House Republicans, and thank the Spaghetti Monster he succeeded! We should be bragging about it, not defending him from such calumny.

Don't forget our right-wing Dems, who need the GOP as an excuse for selling out their voting base.

At this point the only thing that keeps the GOP from being laughed into oblivion [is]... the complicity of the Beltway media.

This is why we lose.

DG This needs to be spread far and wide. I don't have your genius for computer-ish savvy and would dearly love to "like" this for the facebook world. If you're cool with that, could you show me how to?

Good morning, Mr. Glass.

Barack Obama is the new Clenis. Everything is his fault.

And I must say, there's a very "abusive lover", "Now look what you've made me do" vibe to the Right's self-absolution in these matters.

Basically Fox New (and thus the GOP) has devolved into a movement of old men yelling at clouds. It's Abe Simpsons, all the way down.

As long as they've got the Roger Ailes Stamp of Approval, they can go on national TV and make "mrmee mrmee mrmee" sounds with their lips, and the Fox News viewer will be expected to eat it up.

And plenty of "good liberals" are as quick to invoke it as the GOPpers, only they make sure to include anyone to the right of the perennial throwaway vote candidates of the "true left", including pretty much everyone in Washington with a D next to their names.

And people wonder why the GOP gets away with so much.

Thanks for dredging up that old "All In The Family" clip about Archie vs. gun control, DG. (Took me a couple of days before I made it play.) I watched the show back in the days when it was new, but I've forgotten most of the bits. Wayne ThePeter and the NRA truly are adopting as their proclaimed policies the nonsense that a cartoonish right-winger was spouting for purposes of satire in the 1970s. When I type spurious comments at Jesus's General's blog, I try to imagine what a crazed reichy would be thinking, and then push it another notch higher for full bogosity. But even the products of my fevered fake imagination are matched in all seriousness by the non-reality-based fukwitz.
