The Ging And I

The Ging and I
Newt talks to today's Young Conservatives about Christian family values.

File Under: Getting to know you. Getting to know all about you.

From Crooks & Liars:

We see him on FOX News and every other news program pontificating his conservative values incessantly and to the untrained eye or casual passerby, he could appear intelligent and smart. However, we know the truth. He's a typical right wing windbag that uses those same words to lie his way to the top of the conservative food chain. Don't take my word for it, how about someone who knows him a little more intimately--like his second wife Marianne Gingrich? Marianne has the details:
But there was something strange and needy about him. "He was impressed easily by position, status, money," she says. "He grew up poor and always wanted to be somebody, to make a difference, to prove himself, you know. He has to be historic to justify his life."
His actions are all a lie--meaningless except for the great payoff from rich GOP supporters.
"There's somebody else, isn't there?"
She kind of guessed it, of course. Women usually do. But did she know the woman was in her apartment, eating off her plates, sleeping in her bed?
She called a minister they both trusted. He came over to the house the next day and worked with them the whole weekend, but Gingrich just kept saying she was a Jaguar and all he wanted was a Chevrolet. "'I can't handle a Jaguar right now.' He said that many times. 'All I want is a Chevrolet.'"
He asked her to just tolerate the affair, an offer she refused.
He'd just returned from Erie, Pennsylvania, where he'd given a speech full of high sentiments about compassion and family values.
The next night, they sat talking out on their back patio in Georgia. She said, "How do you give that speech and do what you're doing?"
"It doesn't matter what I do," he answered. "People need to hear what I have to say. There's no one else who can say what I can say. It doesn't matter what I live."
Wow. This says it all. People like Newt believe they are above it all.

Of course, this all sounds ever so much less megalomaniaclly hypocritical when you set it to music:

The Ging:
A woman is a female who is human,
Designed for pleasing man, the human male.
A human male is pleased by many women,
And all the rest you hear is fairy tale.

Wife Number Two:
Then tell me how this fairy tale began, sir.
You cannot call it just a poet's trick
Explain to me why many men are faithful
And true to one wife only.

The Ging:

(Spoken) They are sick!
(Singing) A girl must be like a blossom
With honey for just one man.
A man must be like honey bee
And gather all he can.
To fly from blossom to blossom
A honey bee must be free,
But blossom must not ever fly
From bee to bee to bee.

DG, your snippet about his hypocrisy reminds me of another incident in '98 where Newt was banging a young (23 years his junior, and future wife #3) staffer on his desk in the Speaker's office, finished, and 30 minutes later was in front of the cameras ripping Bill Clinton over his lack of morals.

Yes, Sarah is dangerous, but is more stupid than evil, with a dollop of insane. Newt, OTOH is not stupid, but evil and insane? Big time. He is the most dangerous man in the Republican party. And I mean dangerous as in if he was President could self-justify nuking other countries (easily) or even nuking the USA itself.

And another thing...

Check out the picture of Callista. Got that Stepford-wife, Mrs. McCain, secret alien lizard look down just pat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Callista_Gingrich

Grew up in small town Western Wisconsin, went to an Evangelical college. Then at 32 is banging her 55 year old married boss. Now she and Newt put out videos about morality and spirituality.

Newt is a depraved mf whose karmic comeuppance cannot arrive soon enough.

Newt got it backwards; it's your life that matters, not your high blown rhetoric. If he were a real Christian he would know this. But that's another thing a lot of repubs lie about, the other is being conservative when they're really reactionary.

What boggles my mind is how these 'people' can continue to sway vast audiences when their immorality and hypocrisy is a thing of public record, available to all.

Guys like Newt think they can flit around all they want till they cuckold the wrong man and he cuts his junk off and makes him eat it.

Newt might be the biggest fraud around, but, not necessarily for his ability to separate his personal behavior from his professional persona (fraud-inducing as that ability might be).

No, his major hustle of the press and public is the fiction that he's some sort of avant garde, cutting-edge social thinker, bursting with new ideas. He's full of the same old, tired shit, hidden inside a brightly-colored Third Wave cellophane wrapper.

His ideas, boiled down to their essence, aren't much different than those of Heinrich Himmler, which weren't all that new, either.

"He was impressed easily by position, status, money,"

I think this is pretty universal among Repigs. They worship the powerful - no matter how ill-gotten their position, how psychopathic their behavior or how pathetically undeserving like the Chimp - and detest weakness. The mentality of bullies.
