The Triumphant Return of Tom Waits Friday

The sweetly appropriate "Eggs And Sausage"
"...
there's a rendezvous
of strangers

around the coffee urn
tonight

..."

All thanks to able ranger larue (whose original link was even tastier, but sadly unembeddable.)

Possibly my very favorite Waits song of all time, Mr. Glass, from probably his best anbum. Many thanks.

This one has all the things that Tommy does better than anybody else: Melancholy with a brave face, sly humor, lonliness in a crowd, poignancy, rueful observation all sprinkled with a faraway glimmer of hope.

If this doesn't tear your heart out, you ain't got one...

I'm sure you already have been alerted to this, but NPR has a 2-1/2 hour concert of Tom Waits available. It can be found at
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=92916923&ps=bb3

with a song list.

Two and a half hours!!! LIVE!!!

Sorry, but I had to add one more link from NPR. It's two years worth of Tom:
