"Watch your thoughts, for they become words.

Watch your words, for they become actions..."
— Unknown

So first, this...
It is long past time for each person, month after month all year long, to look to find a way to make their brethren’s day a little better, and civilization ever more a thing of beauty and path to peace.

A man alone in the world is no kind of life – living your three score and ten without lending a hand, or doing your part. Whether you are helping a child, or keeping an eye on the Universe.

Whether you are a young woman just finding your place in the work of your lifetime, or a geezer who hasn’t had a good week in twenty years, you need to find a way to help.

Because in case the point has not already been made clearly enough, neither government nor company is going to save us.

We are.

Even though it feels sometimes that we are few in number, and our group sometimes can’t seem to stop ourselves from blocking our own kicks, never forget that we are the solution and not the problem.

And that’s a fact.

Unusually phrased?

Yes.

Stilted?

Sure.

Not the best string of words I have ever strung by a mile.

Yep-er.

But that wasn’t the object of the exercise. And, no, this wasn’t just a subtly bad translation of somet other thing.

While I had a little time while waiting for my sammich order to come up, I read this...

Oxford Dictionary: 'Time' Is Top Noun

LONDON -- For those who think the world is obsessed with "time," an Oxford dictionary added support to the theory Thursday in announcing that the word is the most often used noun in the English language.

"The" is the most commonly used word overall, followed by "be," "to," "of," and, "a," "in," "that," "have," and "I," according to the "Concise Oxford English Dictionary."

On the list of top 25 nouns, time is followed by other movement indicators with "year" in third place, "day" in fifth and "week" at No. 17.

The dictionary used the Oxford English Corpus -- a research project into English in the 21st century -- to come up with the lists.
...

And I wondered if I could use the top 25 nouns -- unrepeated and in order -- in a way that made thematic sense that wouldn't be completely embarassing

So that’s how I killed a little time eating a ham and provolone panini between appointments.

And in case you feel the need, here's the list:
The list of top 25 nouns: time, person, year, way, day, thing, man, world, life, hand, part, child, eye, woman, place, work, week, case, point, government, company, number, group, problem, fact.

You, sir, are truly a wordsmith. Can there by any nobler calling? I think not.

Thank you again for all your hard work. In this instance, words are like coins and I would gladly fill your hand with the offering.

I'm glad you haven't fallen into the Sudoku pit when you have those few minutes to spare. We are all the better for it.

Here's the full quote.

"Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny."

– Frank Outlaw
